The Serenity Church of Charlotte

Our Mission

At The Serenity Church of Charlotte, our message is for anyone seeking a better life and a closer relationship with Our Father. For those seeking to recover from any form of addiction, we offer a bridge between 12 Step Recovery & Christianity. Everybody is recovering from something.

Each of us is messed up. God loves us anyway. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Nothing. (See Romans 8:38-29)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39 New International Version (NIV)

No one is perfect . . . and we are all totally dependent on God’s grace. (See Romans 3:22-24)

22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:22-24 New International Version (NIV)

God gives endless second chances, so we do our best to forgive recklessly and infinitely. (See Matthew 18:21-22)

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Matthew 18:21-22 New International Version (NIV)

Since each of us is messed up, there’s no need to hide it. We try to be as honest and loving as we can be. (See Matthew 7:1-5).

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Matthew 7:1-5 New International Version (NIV)

Honest and loving. That is what The Serenity Church of Charlotte is all about.
